World Book Day - Thursday 5th March 2020

On Thursday 5th March, our EYFS setting looked very different, as we opened our doors to The Gingerbread Man, Elsa, Wolves, Witches and Grannies!
We spent the day talking about our favourite stories and sharing our love of books.
We sent a questionnaire home to parents to find out our family's favourite books and spent time talking about re-designing our library area in school.
At the end of the day, we gathered in our reading area to share a story together whilst we drank our milk.  It was a lovely shared time that we feel is so important, that it should be part of our weekly provision!

"When I say to a parent, "read to a child", I don't want it to sound like medicine. I want it to sound like chocolate. " — Mem Fox

"Reading should not be presented to children as a chore or duty. It should be offered to them as a precious gift." — Kate DiCamillo

"I'm wondering what to read next." — Matilda, Roald Dahl
