Monitoring our attendance

We take attendance very seriously at King Street Primary School.  All children have a right to an education. UNICEF Article 28 and 29 state that all children have a right to an education and we aim for everyone to be a HERO (Here Everyday Ready On time). children who miss school regularly find it hard to keep up with their peers and develop gaps in their knowledge and understanding  where they  have missed vital work. If your child begins to fall below the expected standard of 96% we will monitor their attendance carefully and you will be contacted for an attendance meeting where we feel it is affecting their education. We work closely with the Local Authority attendance services and a representative from these services may attend the meetings.
For those children who are an attendance HERO we celebrate this success in weekly assembles, termly awards and yearly treats.
