As Head Teacher of King Street Primary & Pre-School it is my privilege to welcome you to our website. Our wonderful school provides a superb learning environment for children from the age of 3 through to 11 years old. Our good school is situated close to the centre of Spennymoor making it accessible from all areas of the town.
Our welcoming and caring school community is a safe, healthy, happy and secure setting; characterised by our resolve to create a stimulating and challenging high quality learning environment which promotes respect and tolerance in order for all members of our school community to succeed.

Our school day opening hours:
We operate a breakfast club childcare facility from 7:45-8:30am each morning. If you wish your child to attend this session, please contact the school office.
We also a free early bird session for all children from 8:30am-8:45am and encourage all children to attend from 8:30am. This allows the children to join their class, settle and undertake additional learning task before the school day officially begins at 8:45am. It is a requirement that all children are in school by 8:45am. Children arriving after this time will be marked as late.
Children have a scheduled morning break of 15 minutes during our morning session and have an hour at lunchtime. During breaks and lunchtimes we encourage children to be as active as possible and have lots of physical play equipment on our school yard for them to use.
Our school day finishes at 3.15pm. This gives children 32.5 hours per week in school.
We do offer an after school childcare facility from 3:15pm until 5:30pm. If you require this service, please contact the school office.
In addition to this, we operate many free after school activity clubs that the children can join throughout the year. These can include activities such as gymnastics, chess, science, arts and crafts, board games. These activity clubs run until 4:15pm. Information is sent to parents throughout the year to sign up.
