Welcome to Year 3!

A very big welcome to our Year 3 class page. My name is Mrs. Heightley and I am the Year 3 class teacher. I was previously Miss Wigham but got married during Summer 2021 and changed my name. Children have been so good in calling me by my married name but I still sometimes get called Miss Wigham, which I don't mind at all and I will answer to it!!

Year 3 children are now at the beginning of their Key Stage 2 life. I am honoured to be teaching your child at this point of their education and I can't wait to watch them grow and learn during the year.

Our teaching assistant this year is Miss Brown. She has supported the current Year 3 class throughout their Key Stage 1 life and is excited to be joining them again this year. This is Miss Brown's first year in Year 3 and she is looking forward to supporting the class at the start of their Key Stage 2 journey.
Our Spring term topic is The World Around Us which will have a Geography focus. We will find out about the physical and human geography of our town, our county and our country.
Our Spring term Science topic is Forces and Magnets.
Our Autumn term topic is The Stone Age. We will be finding out about life in our country and across the world during this period of time.
