Remote education became prevalent during school closures due to Covid in 2020. Although we always hope that the majority of children will now have an uninterrupted experience, there is always the possibility that an individual child or group of children may need to be educated remotely for a short period of time. There should only be limited circumstances where a pupil is unable to attend school but is able and well enough to continue their education remotely. These circumstances should only involve a short-term absence and might include: pupils recovering from short term infectious illnesses, pupils preparing for or recovering from some operations, pupils recovering from injuries where attendance might inhibit recovery or situations which effect staffing in school such as severe weather disruption.
Where you believe your child may be absent for one of the reasons above, please contact the class teacher who will discuss how their education will continue based on available technology, learning needs and resources available. Staff will be able to advise and direct to additional platforms that you may also wish to use, to support your child's learning during their absence.Â
Where school is closed due to issues such severe weather disruption, heating issues or flooding, teachers will use the Facebook platform and/or the class page of the school website to direct children's learning.Â
